Reflections from PIP25: Growth, Connection & Heart-Centered AI

Reflections from PIP25: Growth, Connection & Heart-Centered AI

I recently had the honor of attending the 5th Annual Professionals in Paradise Conference (#PIP25), hosted by the Florida Professionals Association at the stunning Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando from July 31 to August 3, 2025 https://floridaprofessionals.com/professionals-in-paradise. From the opening cocktail reception to the closing private dinner and disco party, it was an invigorating fusion of insight, innovation, and connection. I want to share why this event was so meaningful for me—and why conferences like #PIP25 are incredible catalysts for growth.

Welcome Reception & The Power of Being Present

The conference kicked off Thursday evening with a welcome reception—complete with exclusive conference badges, welcome bags, delicious food, and cocktails at the Castillo De San Marcos Fort in the center of the tropical atrium. It was that spark—the energy in the room, seeing familiar faces from weekly Zoom meetings, and meeting new members of the Florida Professionals Association network—that reminded me: being physically in the room matters. Connection happens when we step outside our virtual comfort zone and go where ideas come alive in conversation. Many of us were joking that we felt like The Brady Bunch…we had jumped out of our little boxes on the screen from Zoom, and were finally speaking face to face in person.

I’ll admit that I was a little nervous to attend on my own for the first time, but that was put to rest immediately upon stepping into the room. Members greeted each other with hugs rather than handshakes. The introductions and conversations were flowing effortlessly, and I immediately felt right at home. After the reception, we collected our welcome bags and headed down to the Socio bar to continue the good vibes and getting to know one another.

Learning with High‑Impact Sessions

Friday’s conference was nothing short of transformative. After a gourmet breakfast at the Castillo De San Marco Fort venue, the keynote set the tone: innovation meets heart. Rob Cressy, AI Coach for high‑performing leaders, spoke about a human-first approach to leveraging artificial intelligence. His message: identity, vision, and values come before tools—because real growth starts with heart-aligned action.

The panels that followed touched on all the big questions facing entrepreneurs today:

  • Navigating key legal issues and contracts
  • Hands-on workshops unlocking today’s most practical AI tools
  • Strategies to access funding and foster growth
  • Building smart exit plans that maximize business value
  • Marketing frameworks that remove guesswork and enable scalable success

Every session had actionable takeaways I could immediately apply to Bookkeeping by Prismatic Jess—whether it’s integrating AI for faster marketing and administrative work or using legal best practices to protect my business and client relationships.

Networking: Beyond Cards & LinkedIn

One thing I shared on Facebook was my excitement about the networking lounge and social gatherings. At #PIP25, these weren’t just social hours—they were relationship accelerators. From the expo area where I met sponsors and fellow professionals, to Friday night’s free time where people broke off into smaller groups to enjoy dinner while getting to know each other better, every moment was an opportunity to forge deeper connections. The relaxed, joyful atmosphere made it easy to introduce myself, share my bookkeeping mission, and find collaborators who genuinely understood my values and goals.

Stepping Outside Your Comfort Zone

A theme I posted about was how inspiring it is to “lean into the unfamiliar.” Participating in workshops like the AI Unlocked session, I navigated tools I hadn’t explored before—and came away empowered, not intimidated. Offering bookkeeping services with heart means blending tried‑and‑true techniques with emerging tech, and #PIP25 pushed me to lean in. When you step outside your comfort zone, doors open: new ideas, deeper courage, fresh energy.

AI Meets Heart: The Best of Both Worlds

AI is powerful—but as Rob Cressy reminded us, it only works when guided by purpose. In my business, I’ve been experimenting with ChatGPT and AI-driven automation to streamline tasks, and the conference clarified how to do so with care—not detachment. That means weaving in empathy when communicating with business clients, ensuring accuracy doesn’t sacrifice personal touch, and trusting technology to free me up for relationship-building rather than diminish it.

Why This Conference Matters for the FPA Community

As an executive member of the Florida Professionals Association, I saw how Professionals in Paradise has become more than a business event—it’s a community builder. It celebrates collaboration across industries and encourages members to grow collectively. It’s not just about attending panels—it’s about elevating Florida’s business ecosystem through connection, innovation, and shared purpose. If you’re looking for a networking group that forges true connections, offers partnerships and referrals, and will help you to get more involved and grow your business, consider joining the Florida Professionals Association…and tell them that Jessica Croft of Bookkeeping by Prismatic Jess gave you a personal invitation.

What I’m Taking Home

Even though Saturday was a free day—many participants headed to the South Beach pool at the resort. This provided the perfect opportunity to reflect on new inspirations, discuss our plans and intentions when we headed home, and deepen one-on-one connections. I had several deeply meaningful discussions with inspiring business owners that could all totally relate to exactly where I am in my business at this time.

South Beach Pool Party

By Sunday’s farewell, I was carrying more than a tote bag—we wrapped up with renewed intentions, memorable friendships, and momentum to move forward.

Here’s what I’m taking with me as the founder of Bookkeeping by Prismatic Jess:

  • Stronger confidence in using AI tools infused with heart and mindful intent
  • Fresh legal, funding, and marketing perspectives that guide my strategic planning
  • New connections with professionals who may become collaborators or clients
  • A reminder: the best ideas come when you’re surrounded by diverse, driven people
  • The reminder that stepping out—even into unfamiliar settings—leads to exponential growth

Final Thoughts: Join the Room Where It Happens

Growth doesn’t happen in isolation—it blooms when you bring your head, heart, and presence together in places like Professionals in Paradise. Whether you’re a solopreneur wondering about AI or someone eager to network beyond local groups, this conference is where discovery, community, and vision meet.
